Afternoon Wedding with no evening function
Get married at the Horn of Plenty then after-party elsewhere if you wish!
If you’re not wanting a large evening reception at the end of your special day, or perhaps you’d prefer to party the night away elsewhere, then an Afternoon Wedding could be ideal for you. This part-day wedding means you’d get married here, followed by photos, reception and your wedding breakfast in our award-winning restaurant. When it comes to 5pm you’d head off to relax, or to continue your evening celebrations elsewhere.
These weddings are perfect for those with older guests, those with young babies who aren’t keen on staying up late and partying, and those who simply prefer to relax and chill out in the evening after an incredibly special day. They are also an ideal choice for local couples who don’t need lots of overnight accommodation.
Staying with us
Although you would leave the restaurant at 5pm, you are welcome to book a few bedrooms at the hotel and watch the sunset over the valley, with time to reflect on your wonderful day. You and any residents staying the night will be able to use the library for evening drinks and a buffet if you wish.

We offer weddings in all different shapes and sizes, and are happy to tailor the day around you. Other options include:
Micro & Elopement Weddings
Ideal for 2 – 28 guests if you don’t want any evening entertainment, and don’t want to commit to any rooms. We’d ensure your ceremony was held in private, but there would be other guests in the hotel.
Exclusive Use Weddings
Ideal for 30-90 day guests, and up to 120 evening guests. You would have exclusive use from 11am on your wedding day until 11am the following day. We do ask that you fill all 16 bedrooms.
Micro Evening Weddings
Ideal for 2 – 24 guests if you don’t want any evening entertainment, and don’t want to commit to any rooms. We’d ensure your ceremony was held in private, but there would be other guests in the hotel.
