Our plan to keep you safe

A message from the owners - updated 24th September 2021

At The Horn of Plenty, we have always upheld the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness. We know this continues to be incredibly important, even with restrictions being relaxed.  We want to reassure you that we are taking every precaution to ensure your safety and wellbeing during your stay.

Our aim is to ensure we continue to provide you with the luxurious, relaxing break and fantastic food that you expect from us, whilst also providing the reassurance you need regarding safety, social distancing and cleanliness.

This small Country House Hotel with just 16 bedrooms is in a quiet, rural location where guests come to unwind, be pampered and enjoy a relaxing stay. With 5 acres of gardens and wide open spaces, we can offer a true  “escape to the country” with peace, tranquillity and plenty of outdoor space.

We’re fortunate to already have well-spaced tables in our restaurant and an extensive outdoor seating area, including our new restaurant terraces overlooking the Tamar Valley. Most bedrooms also have their own balcony or patio, so that you can enjoy your own individual outdoor space.  We also have a UV machine which claims to kill 99.99% of bacteria and viruses, including Coronavirus.  This is used to sanitise every bedroom between each stay.

Please see below for the key measures we have put in place.

Pre-arrival & Check-in

Most importantly, if any guest has any Covid-19 symptoms, we ask that you stay at home.

Guests are requested to check in via the NHS app, or to leave their contact details.  This is no longer mandatory, but a sensible way to help keep people safe.

Reception has a high screen in place to protect guests and staff alike.

Contactless payment & check-out

We are now a cashless operation; only credit and debit cards are accepted at this time.

Check-out  can be contactless if you wish.  A printed room bill will be placed under your door late evening prior to your departure.  Please dial 0 and speak to our Receptionist if you prefer a contactless checkout.  Otherwise, please pay at Reception on departure.

Housekeeping

Our Housekeeping team keep rooms well aired and fresh with country breezes.  Each room is deep cleaned and fully sanitised before each stay. We have a UV Deep Clean System to sanitise exposed room surfaces and frequent touch points between each stay, safely removing bacteria and viruses.

Sanitiser and disinfectant wipes are available  throughout the hotel.  Public areas are regularly cleaned throughout the day.

Linens, towels and robes are washed on a high heat, with added sanitisation.

If you would prefer not to have your room serviced during your stay, please just let our Reception team know.

Our staff

Staff are temperature-checked upon arrival every day.  Any staff member showing symptoms will be immediately sent home and asked to arrange for a Covid-19 test.  They will not be permitted to return until they can prove their results are negative.

Lateral flow tests are available for all staff on request.

A picnic lunch menu is available to enjoy on your your days out.  Please give us 24 hours notice.
