This is the perfect opportunity to relax and indulge. Escape from the norm and enjoy a trip to Cotehele, The Garden House or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Or maybe a long walk on Dartmoor, or a stroll around the Tamar Valley. Then head back for some superb local cuisine, cooked by Head Chef Scott Paton and his talented team.
During March and April, we're offering a very special rate of 20% off our normal mid-season dinner, bed and breakfast rate, minimum 2 night stay. Prices start from just £74 DBB per person per night, based on two people sharing.

Nordic Walking Breaks

Nordic walking is a perfect way to explore Dartmoor National Park whilst keeping fit.

Enjoy a two night break with dinner, bed and breakfast, plus two days of Nordic walking tuition by Elaine Sylvester and moorland walks (4 hrs per day).

Elaine Sylvester is a qualified Nordic Walking Instructor, a Health and Fitness Instructor and has been a Dartmoor National Park Guide for many years.

Nordic walking is an extremely effective way of keeping fit that was developed by cross-country skiers, who needed to keep fit "out of season". Walking with poles provides an "all-over body" workout, which Elaine explains, is similar to walking “in four-wheel drive”, as it essentially uses the upper body muscles as well as the lower body muscles.

It is also entirely suited to people who enjoy and appreciate the countryside, particularly whilst exploring Dartmoor, as the poles are easily adapted to uneven or boggy ground, as well as the odd granite tor you may encounter whilst experiencing the rugged beauty of Dartmoor!
