Pot Luck night every Monday at The Horn of Plenty Restaurant in Devon
The History Of The Famous Pot Luck Menu
For over 25 years, Monday night at The Horn of Plenty has affectionately become known as Pot Luck night. When it was introduced by the founders of The Horn of Plenty, Patrick and Sonia Stevenson, it was at a time when fresh deliveries of food could only be delivered on a Tuesday morning and therefore in order to open on Monday evening, any remaining produce in the fridge from the weekend would be used.
As a result, quality and freshness would not be compromised but choice would be limited and therefore a reduced menu price would be offered to compensate guests for at times not being able to accommodate their first choice.
Over time, Pot Luck evenings became one of the busiest times of the week and the tradition of the reduced price has followed to this very day apart from the fact that these days the ingredients are delivered on any day and the guests' selection is always available. However, the choice remains reduced from our normal six options of starters, mains and desserts to three.
The Horn of Plenty Restaurant's Monday Pot Luck menu is priced at £28.00 for 3 courses. (Coffee & petit fours £3.75). Includes VAT. Service charge not included.
