It’s time to roll up your sleeves and start cooking with award winning Master Chef Peter Gorton!
Our friendly, relaxed ‘hands on’ cookery courses at The Horn of Plenty in Devon will teach you the culinary skills you need to cook with flair and imagination at home.
The day will begin gently at 9.30 am with tea or coffee and cookies.
Peter will start by giving a full briefing on the run for the day ahead including recipes to be cooked, handling of kitchen equipment and the layout of the kitchen. He will also talk about health, safety and hygiene issues…not to mention how to have fun and get the most out of the day!
Then it’s into the kitchen for the day – but it won’t be hell’s kitchen! You will learn how to prepare and cook a three-course meal and Peter will show you all the necessary tips and advice on preparing the basics that will allow you to cook a number of other dishes.
Lunch will be served and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
The cost for the day is only £125 per person – or you could make it an extra treat and stay in one of our luxurious rooms. Call us for special cookery course room rates.

All skills and levels are catered for (excuse the pun!) but places are limited and will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis so book or buy your gift vouchers early to avoid disappointment!

Or, join Peter, again exclusively for you and your guests, for a cookery demonstration and meal. Watch and learn from the Vice Chairman of the Master Chefs as he takes you through the preparation and cooking of a three course dinner party menu.
